Problem with LN Veritas Agent - Pleas Help

HelloI’ve problem with LN Veritas Agent. I’ve been trying to solve it for two months and I’ve failed. When I try to select LN databases to backup Veritas Backup Exec hangs. Maybe somebody knows workaround of this problem. Pleas help I’m really desperated

I’m not sure what versions of the OS you are running or what patches are applied, but, if you have MS05-019 installed (comes with Win 2003 SP1), you should apply Windows fix MS06-007 (KB 913446). I don’t know about your versions but we had a similar problem on Veritas 9.1 with Domino 6.0.5 and the answer was to deal with Microsoft’s MS05-019 with another fix which was superceded with this (913446) one. It’s all about a problem in Microsoft’s TCP/IP.

What version of Veritas are you running? According to their website, versions prior to 9 did not support ND6.

Thanks for your answers. I forgot to tell you about LN and backup configuration. It’s Lotus Domino Server 5.0 and I’m using Backup Veritas Exec version 8.6 for Win2k servers.

Then you will probably get a better response over in the R5 forum - this is for Notes/Domino 6…

I would venture that you might get even better help from Veritas - after all, it is their product.

Not familiar with Veritas but I’m thinking this is a “file in use” issue. I would hope that a backup program would remember the file for later retry and move on, but apparently not. You may have to shut down the server before you run your backup.

There are third-party tools from IBM Business Partners that are specifically designed for Lotus Notes backup. I’m not familiar with any to recommend, but there are some.
