Problem with installing 8.5 client on mac

hi,

I have a problem with installing notes client on mac os.

I insatlled it once and it did work but there was missing some standard functions in menu, like ‘create new replica…’. I thought that its like that because I did missed something during install…

Then insatlled again and after I start it I see only message:

Unable to open Name and Address Book (names.nsf), due to error ‘File does not exist’. Locations cannot be used until the problem has been corrected.

I checked

HOME/libraris/applicaiton supoort/lotus notes data and it is almost empty. No *.nsf file…

I spend some time cleaning up my mac and reinstalled, but did not solve the problem.

I googled about that error message and found number of posts about migrating outlook contacts to notes. I think that I had option enable to use Notes for my contacts during instalation. But no info about my problem - I am the first one…

Thanks in advance,

Grzegorz

Subject: problem solved

I just found out how to solve this problem.I uninstalled Lotus Notes and looked for left over files. I found and removed the file ‘Notes Preferences’ in the folder ‘user’-Library-preferences. Then I reinstalled Notes and it worked.

Subject: Try this…

Trash /Library/Application Support/Lotus Notes Data and /Library/Preferences/Notes Preferences. No need to reinstall. This will cause you to setup Notes again from scratch (enter Domino server, ID file, etc).

Once Notes comes up, turn on View → Advanced Menus and you should see the option to create new replicas.

Subject: didn’t help but found workaround

I deleted almost everything with ‘notes’ in name but did not help. Finally I created new account on mac and installed there…

Thanks for the info about advanced menu.
