We have inconsistent problems with a form that has an embedded Excel spreadsheet. The form goes through a routing process and then after it’s approved another person will create a document that inherits fields from this form, including the embedded item. When the problem occurs the user is getting a message “One or more of the source document’s attachments are missing. Run fixup to delete the document in the source database.” This error has been posted before but doesn’t seem to be the same issue we are having. Anyone have any experince like this, or some ideas on what I can do to troubleshoot this problem?

User getting message “One or more of the source document’s attachment are missing. Run Fixup to delete the document in the source database.” (this is the exact message, disagreeing noun and verb included). Check.
In the backup that was just restored, the Excel document could still be opened and saved, but when I try to copy the document (or the database) I get the error message. Instead of a regular user seeing the error, the document just disappeared. Without a trace. As you can imagine, this is absolutely unacceptable. Does anyone have any idea how to prevent or work around this?
