Problem with customized desktop policy after upgrade from Domino 7 -> 8

So I had a 7.0.3 server from which I push down policies to control the desktops. Since 7.0.3 policy documents did not allow control of all client replication settings, I used the documented procedure for pushing down additional fields to the location documents. For example, I added the field ‘LocAllEnabled’ to my ‘desktop settings’ policy document. This worked fine.

Now, I’ve upgraded the server to 8.0.1 (including the new NAB template that addresses various policy issues). It appears that the new policy document already contains the ‘LocAllEnabled’ field, because now, I can’t open the policy document at all. I get the following error message:

Error, the form and subform both have a field entitled LocAllEnabled

Any ideas on how I can open the document and fix this?

Subject: Solution

Figured it out…when I customized the Desktop Settings form, I had checked the ‘do not refresh’ box. So I was running a Domino 8 NAB with a Domino 7 form. Solution was to rename the Domino 7 version, refresh the design of the NAB from the Domino 8 template, and then reconcile the fields between the two.

Hope this helps someone sometime!
