I have a custom welcome page that I push down from the server to desktops using a desktop policy. Everything worked great with it until I upgraded my server from 7.0.2 → 7.0.3. It looks to me like the design of the database on the server was upgraded to a 7.0.3 design. Now, the bookmark file that comes down to the workstations on a new install is not fully formed, and does not start with the custom welcome page.
Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

I eventually resolved this problem by building a new welcome page db based on the 7.0.3 bookmark template. However, I have a theory about what went wrong with the first one, that I’ll throw out here in case it helps anyone.
The central welcome page database ACL needs to have the default entry set to Reader or higher. I believe that when the design of my welcome page was refreshed in the upgrade to 7.0.3, the ACL for the default entry got set back to ‘none’.
If this happens to you, check the ACL!
