We have a strange problem with a couple of Notes clients.
When ever they lock their PC workstation (Ctrl-Alt-Del, Lock workstation), if they had been half the way down (several screens down) in a long Notes document, when they log back into their workstation, the Notes document that they have on their screen always repositions itself back to the top of the document.
We have two different workstations where this consistently happens, but for anyone else who tries this, the document stays where it was positioned before the workstation was locked.
I have already removed the following three files from the Data directory: cache.ndk, bookmark.nsf & headline.nsf and restarted the Notes client, but the problem still exists.
These machines are all running the 7.0.2 client for windows (both the ones that work correctly and the ones that don’t).
I have tried searching this forum for anyone else with this problem, but was not able to find any other entries.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Subject: problem with client remember where it was in document
Interesting. It seems somehow a refresh is done to those open documents. I don’t really what starts the refresh though.

I wonder if this could have anything to do with the security preference:
Login to Notes using your operating system login

I don’t think that would affect it. What state is the document in and is it consistent for all users? Meaning, do they all have the document in Read mode or are the one’s it’s not working for in Edit mode? Just a thought. Also, do they all have the same level of access?

or was the document changed and the view / form is set to automatically refresh?

The people who are having trouble are in a group that has only reader access to the database. There is no auto-refresh set on the form (or database) that I can find.
Other people in this reader group do not have a problem with the repositioning of the document.
After further checking, I found out that the editor of this document originally created the document in MS Word and then did a select all and then a copy/paste into the Notes document. Not real happy about that, but if you give the end-users update capability and tell them they are responsible to keep the information up to date…
