Hi
I have a web application in which there is a form which has a Authors field. I have an agent which is putting the values in the form and saving as a document. The agent is also putting usernames in the authors field.
Prbloem is when I am opening a document in edit mode of that form then it is saying “Username is not authorized to access the form”.
But when I am putting the data manually on the form then I can be easily able to open the document in the form.
What is the problem please suggest. Is there any alternative. I have to put the data in the form thru agent but not the manual entry by user.
Thanks in advance
Subject: Problem with Authors field
If the agent is using lotus script, this is the possible reason.
Whenever an authors/readers field is set through lotusscript, the property “NotesItem.isAuthors=True” must be set for that field. Similarly for Readers … else it becomes a plain text field and the access is lost. You can check the Notes Help for details.

Subject: Canonical?
You know that when you manually enter an abbreviated name into a Names, Readers or Authors field, that Notes saves it in Canonical form?
Maybe your agent is setting the usernames using only Common or Abbreviated values?
If you set the field using an agent, you should use the NotesName.Canonical values.
(Using a Notes client to look at “File - Document Properties” to see the difference between the Authors field for documents saved manually and those saved by your agent.)
