I try to upgrade 3 different servers from 8.5.1FP3 to FP4 (with French LP) on Win2003. All 3 failed with same error :
“Installer found the incorrect version Release 8.5.1FP3|May 23, 2010”.
Title of the message box is : “Incremental installer Release 8.5.1 → Release 8.5.1FP4”
Should I revert to 8.5.1 first ?
Is it a bug of this installer (I do not think I had the same problem with previous FP).
Thanks
Jean-Pierre
Subject: Please, send me an UPGRADE.log located in your Domino program directory.
This scenario FP3->FP4was tested by QE, but probably not with the language pack.Without language pack no uninstall was necessary per our QE.
Note regarding 851FP4:
851FP4 fixpack is not like the previous ones - it has a dojo security fix that made it huge (~4000 files)
We had to accommodate the size and its install/uninstall functionality became somewhat limited.
It is a known issue that this fixpack is uninstalable to gold release (i.e. 8.5.1)only and not to the previous fixpack level - as it was possible with the previous fixpacks.
The reason for that was that the size of fixpack impacted install time to make it prohibitive to update the previous fixpack backup information.

Subject: No Upgrade log available in this case
Although the error message mentionned to refer to upgrade log, no upgrade log was found on these machines.
I decided to revert to 8.5.1 and reapply LP + FP4 : that was fully successfull.
Anyway, if you want me to revert to FP3 and make additionnal testing, I can do so on one of my servers.
NB : See my new post on Notes FP4 wich did not install either.

Subject: UPGRADE.log could be in %TEMP% directory if install was aborted to early maybe.
If you see this happening on all servers with language pack installed - I can try to reproduce it locally.I will need to know if you have selected “replace” or “add” option on language pack.
I assume that scenario is 951FP3->SLP for 851FP3 + 851FP4?

If you see this happening on all servers with language pack installed - I can try to reproduce it locally. = OK
I will need to know if you have selected “replace” or “add” option on language pack. = Replace
I assume that scenario is 951FP3->SLP for 851FP3 + 851FP4? = 851FP3 + LP → 851FP4
