I’m trying to configure some default replication settings for our Notes clients.
However, when creating a Desktop Setting and configuring the Preferences → Replication settings (replicate on startup and scheduling) I run into some problems.
If I set the “How To Apply” setting to “Set initial value”, the settings arent applied when the Notes client is configured.
Other settings like “Lock ID after N minutes”, and “Autosave every N minutes” works fine with a “Set initial value”.
I figured this might be because replication settings are stored in the location document of the personal address book,
and maybe they arent created yet, when the initial values are set.
So instead I looked up the “Set value whenever modified” HTA-setting.
According to both the IBM Info Center, and the DominoWiki the “Set value whenever modified” should simply configure the setting on the client,
and allow the user to reconfigure the setting and not reset it until the policy document in the Domino Directory is modified.
So I figured a configure-and-forget Desktop Settings document with “Set value whenever modified” HTA-settings could be used
when “Set initial value” wouldn’t work.
However when I do that, the replication settings are nicely configured on the client. But they are also reset, whenever the Notes client refreshes its client configuration.
So how do I go about configuring the replication settings as either “Set initial value” or as “Set value whenever modified” the way it is supposed to work according
to the IBM Info Center and DominoWiki?

PS: The problem is occuring on Domino 8.5.1FP4 servers with Notes clients 8.5.1, 8.5.1FP5 and 8.5.2
