Problem in calling domino from java application

Hi Techies,

I am struggling with one problem in Lotus - Domino. This is something related to performance tuning and improvement. I want to get handle on notes session from a java based web application. For this I am using NotesFactory class and createsession method.

Though I am able to get handle on notes session but it takes long execution time (depend on the users in the DOMINO DIRECTORY).

For example - for 100 users it took 409 milliseconds

	  for 3000 users it took 2 seconds.

	My client has 1 lac web users and in their environment this function takes 20 mnts. This is really abnormal execution time.

I request you to please advise me if there is any way (@ server level or @ code level) to reduce this execution time.

Here is the code I am using to get Notes Session from a java application.

Session session = NotesFactory.createSession("<serverName>","<userName>","<password>");

Database database = session.getDatabase("<serverName>","<user's mail(.nsf) file>");

Java outside of Domino and iiop to reach your notes database is always slow. I see in your java that you want to reach a mail file, I suggest to call in your java server the notes database using view?readviewentries and use a XSLT sheet in order to display data, or an XML parser to find your informations.In the lotus white paper you could find a really find documentation on this means. Unfortunately I did not retrieve myself, but few years ago I used it with success and leave IIOP for bad performance aspect.
