we have a user whose PC was formatted and his Lotus notes had to be reconfigured. However, now after lotus was reconfigured, we are not able to able his old archive file. when we try to open his archive file it gives an error.The error is-File’C:\program files\lotus\notes\1BSCs must be configured as neighbours in the market’(file name)does not exist. The link is pointing to a local archive. If the machine was formatted, then everything that was local is gone. The only way to recover will be from a backup.
The “file name does not exist” error would seem to mean that the file is missing or isn’t where it is expected to be. Use the file system to browse to the notes data directory, look for a folder named “archive”, and see if the file is in there.
Since you re-installed notes, it is possible that you installed it slightly differently, so there may be a different notes data directory left over from the old install, with that archive folder in there.
Otherwise, hopefully you took a backup prior to this re-install, and you can pull the file from the backup.
