Problem displaying action button

I am having problems displaying an action button on a form for certain users. The two fields on the form are Manager and dispManager. Manager is displayed while in edit mode, otherwise dispManager is displayed. Manager is a Computed Names field which is auto-populated with a default value when the document is initially created and has a formula of “@Name([Abbreviate]; Manager)”. There is a button on the form to change the default value using @PickList. The dispManager field is Computed Text and has the formula of “@Name([CN]; Manager)”.

The assigned Manager needs to see the action button to run a process and the hide/when formula I tried is below.

@IsNewDoc | (@Name([CN];@UserName) != @Name([CN]; dispManager))

However, it only seems to work if the default Manager is used. When the Manager is changed, the newly chosen Manager cannot see the button. If it is changed back to the default Manager it displays properly again. I would assume it has something to do with the fields being computed, but I don’t want to change those if possible. I am only trying to add a new feature and don’t know if changing those fields would affect functionality somewhere else in the database.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Subject: Problem displaying action button

Hi ,

Please check if the name change is taken by the computed field.I used a Computed field and refreshed the document when name was changed.

I created a test form and the scenario that u gave, and it works fine.
