Problem authenticating to new Linux server build

We’re planning to move to a new Linux server from a Solaris one. I have moved all of the data files to the new server for testing, but I am unable to authenticate from the Notes client. I get the following error:

Subject’s public key stored in ID file is not the one stored in our ID file for that entity

I can connect to the old server with no problem. I certified my ID and have copied the most recent version of the cert ID and names.nsf to the new server, but I am still getting the error. Is there something I’m missing?

Forgot to mention: the first message I get when trying to authenticate is “The signature on the certificate was found to be invalid”.

Again, I am able to access the original R5 server. Could the cert ID be corrupted just by copying it?

Ok, there was a problem with the server ID file. Something must have happened to it in the R7 installation. I replaced it with an older version and everything seems to be working.

Mike,

FYI, you can edit your original post, you don’t need to keep posting just to revise the problem description, although it is still a good idea to have a separate post for the solution in cases like this where you resolved your own problem (so that people see that the original post has had a response).

Also, this certification issue is common to any platform, not specific to Linux. I’ve encountered it in Windows. I couldn’t remember how I solved it, so I’m glad you posted the answer.
