Private Views refresh

Hi there,

Created “Approval” view as a private view, which list all pending for approval documents for the user.

This view list all related (user) documents properly when user opens database first time, where as if any new document is pending for approval for that user it does not display until user close the database & opens again the “Approval” view.

I feel view is not refreshed dynamically. Any solutions?

Thank you,

Pressing F9 will refresh the view; it’s not necessary to exit the database.Doesn’t it show a “refresh indicator” (pictured at left) to show that the view is out of date? That is the default behavior, which you can modify in the “Options” tab of the view properties (see below). Of course, changing the design of the shared view does nothing for already-existing private copies of the view. That’s one of the reasons we really don’t much like private on first use views. I generally suggest that people use an embedded categorized view with single category formula, instead.

Additionally: there is a bug with private views, meaning that they will be corrupt after a while, then you have to delete them on that users PC…, re-open and database and view, and then it will display the right documents…
