Private View can't be accessed by a View Link

I created a Private view and am sending the link to the view using a View Link (Similar to what a Doclink is for a document). On click of this link, the database gets opened up but not the view. If I send the view link of any other normal shared view, the view opens up directly without the database default screen opening up.

Is this some property of Private views that they can’t be accessed by view links.

Are you sending this link to some other person ?

Private views are Private - only you can see them. (There’s a Reader field created with the owner’s name.)
