Printing Restriction

I would like to know if there is a way to do the following for documents in a database:1) restrict all users except editors to print the documents

  1. editors can print the documents

The only function I found is restrict everyone.

Not sure if this will help but…

in a similar situation on the windows platform we disabled printing for the database and then used OLE to control what was printed.

Because we used MS word we were able to store templates in the database and control exactly what was printed and how it was formatted.

You can use any program that supports OLE and is installed on ALL your client machines.

My solution is :

  1. check the “Disable printing/forwarding…” to restrict printing in the Form.

  2. add a form for printing and restrict users to use(using Role) in Form security setting.

Maybe try using @UserAccess in a computed $KeepPrivate field. If they’re less than editor then value is “1” otherwise value is “0”

Not tried it but it should be a starting point
