Take one of your contacts who is in a group called “Project Alpha” and in a group called “Board of Directors”. Select the view “Contacts by Category”. Place a check mark next to “Board of Directors” group and your contact’s name. Go to ‘Print’ select ‘Selected View’ and ‘Preview’. Everything looks fine right? Start over. This time place a check mark next to “Project Alpha” and your contact’s name. Go to ‘Print’ select ‘Selected View’ and ‘Preview’. Now you see your Contact’s name then the group name and then the contact’s name again. Because the contact is in another group that is alphbetically higher than “Proje…” it is included in the print job. When we printed the “Board of Director’s” group, the associations in alphabetically inferior groups was left off of the print job. When you select a contact in one group it selects the contact in all groups. I would like to select in one group only. Is this possible?

No, you are selecting documents, not view entries. If one document falls into multiple categories, it will appear selected multiple times – it’s the same document, after all.

So…How would one select a view entry?
How does one print a category name and the list of contacts in that category if some of those contacts are in Alphabetically superior categories?

One wouldn’t.
