Previously working links in mail now display as plain text

We have upgraded our servers and clients from 7.0.3 to 8.5.

Now, some mail messages which were previously received and included clickable url links, display these links as plain text. The user is forced to either forward or reply to the message, for the link to become clickable.

  1. This seems to happen with mail coming from outside our site, which can be either automatically generated email or manually sent email.

  2. Not all mail from outside our site has this problem though. Most mail from outside with links, display just fine - the links are clickable.

Nothing has changed about either our site with the exception of the upgrade. Our person docs have “Keep in senders’ format” in the “Format preference for incoming mail”.

Is anybody else having this problem or does anyone have any suggestions for resolution?

Seems like you have a reproducible case… Maybe they are already aware of the problem and have a fix or they really need to determine what is causing this change in behavior and fix if caused by the upgrade.

Same issues with us. We use a lot Mailin db that are configure to send link and now they are broken. This use to work on 7.0.X

An IBM rep found the answer for me! I was looking for 8.5, but I guess this is related to 8.x. Here’s the information:
