Previewing design when the computer name is different from the server name

My home computer’s name is different to the name of the domino server that is running on it. If I try to preview in IE a design element in a database on the server, Domino inserts the name of the server rather than the computer name and IE fails to find the database. Is there any way I can tell Domino to use my computer name instead?

If you edit the HOSTS file on your workstation, the format should be pretty obvious; it’s just IP address followed by a space- or tab-delimited list of names you would like to resolve to the IP address. In XP, the hosts file is under winnt\system32\drivers\etc.

Open the server document,

go to Internet Protocols → HTTP

under Basics

Host name(s) : leave it blank.

This will take the platform’s host name(Computer name).

restart the server.

This is in R5. Try the same in R6.
