Prevent Rules

Is there a way to prevent clients from creating Rules? I have reduced their access to Editor with Delete and they still are able to create rules. My main issue with this is that my users are auto forwarding their mail to Gmail and this is against our company policy. So I need a way for them to use mail but not create new Rules. I would like to hide the option if it is possible.

Thanks in advanced.

I know my company has specifically blocked sent copy to option in the mail while leaving rules in place. How? Outside my scope of work but clearly is possible. (Maybe they just changed the mail template but I don’t think so)

Threat of termination for violation of company policies not enough? Wow, brave employees.

Hi,

Other Way,

Disabling the send to option in the rules is possilbe in the designer.

Open the Master template, in the rules delete the option send to/copy to.

All the mail files will inherit the template by default @ 2am.

In the configuration document, Router/SMTP tab, Restrictions and Controls tab, Delivery Controls tab, Delivery Controls section, there is a field, User rules mail forwarding. If disabled, prevents Notes clients to use the “send copy to” rule action.

This is a pertinent tip for us as well, thank you. Do you know how disabling this option handles those rules that have already been created? Does it remove the rule or just not execute it? Or does it still allow those rules already created to run anyway?

Thanks again for the great post.

I believe that it prevents the router from executing this kind of rule if it already exists, but I’m not 100% on that.
