Prevent Overwrite of "internet mail Address" in location document?

Hi People

I’ve a user (our CEO), that sends his Mails inside the Notes Client via an external SMTP (Google) to directly backup em.

Using that SMTP he has to Change his Internet Address in the Location-Document to “Firstname Lastname | Company” so his Mails have a good looking Phrase and do not arrive just with at the reciver.

This he has to do since the setting in the config document:

SRFC822 phrase handling: Use CN as phrase

does not apply since he uses an external SMTP.

Now the internet address gets overwriten by the setting in his Person-Document with . In that document u cant set the Phrase like he wants because its not allowed.

in Short: is there a way to block that overwrite?

Any info would be helpful.

thanks!

kind regards

Tibor

I’m interested in any ideas on this.

From what I’ve figured out, the Notes client applies policies from the server and also updates the local Location Document information at about the same time.

Essentially, by design, it zaps the email address on the local Location document with the email address from the server (in the user’s person document). That’s done to ensure the user is using the “correct” information.

In my case, I have a small number of users who would like, from time to time, to be able to specify an alternate return email address from time to time.
