Prevent Edit on One Field Only

Hi All

Can anyone tell me how I can prevent a user from amending a certain field on a form after it has been created and saved? I want them to be able to amend any other fields on the saved form, just not this particular one.

My lotus script knowledge is very basic, so if the answer involves script, can you please give me the idiot’s guide on what to do!

Use hide when formula. Show one ( editable field) only for new document ( hide when ! @IsNewDoc)And create another field Computed for diaplay, which has first field as a value, hide this field when @IsNewDoc.

The most simple way to do it is use two fields, Field1 is Ediable Field2 is computed.

Formula in field2 is simply

Field1

Then use ‘hide when’ to display one, or the other depending upon the criteria

i.e.

If you want the editable one to display before it’s been saved and the ‘un-editable’ displaying when it’s been saved in the Hide When you’ll need

Field1 - @IsNewDoc = 0

Field2 - @IsNewDoc = 1

What you could do, is hide the field if it’s not a new document and create a computed field that contains the value of the hidden field.In the hide if window of the field you want to hide, add

!@isnewdoc

In the hide if window of the field that shows only the value, add @isnewdoc
