Preserve Headers

Hi,

I have recently set up a spam filtering gateway (using postfix/spamassassin) within our organisation and it seems to be quite effective. However, I would now like to give users the ability to train spamassassin by forwarding spam messages that slipped through the net back to the gateway.

My problem is that using the standard Forward feature of the Notes mail file does not preserve the original email headers which are required for proper training.

Is there any way that the headers can be preserved?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Subject: Preserve Headers

Hi Darren,

We have the same issues. What we are trying now is to create buttons in the user interface to copy (not foreward) the selected mail to a ham or a spam false positives box. We want to make those boxes accessible through POP3, so an administrator can download the messages. Mozilla saves its messages in mbox format so we can submit them to SA that way.

Does this make sense? We still have to test it all around. The problem of the rewritten headers is one thing. But the other problem we encountered is that Notes mangles the emails. The headers have to be accessed through a properties window. The html sits in an attachment, etc. And there seems to be no easy way to get them out again. Let’s hope the POP solution is workable.
