I have posted about this before, but haven’t found a solution yet:
Certain users have problems with the date / time set by the server. They are working on a DB on the server, but sometimes when they send mails, the PostedDate and OriginalModTime is between a few weeks to years ahead.
Right now I have a user that have sent some mails between 7th of jan and 8th of jan. 2007. All the mails sent in that period is stamped with a posteddate: 19-5-08 and OriginalModTime 19-10-08.
I really can’t see why the server would set the dates over a year ahead, when my own mails sent in the same period have the right posteddate.
Right now I can’t reproduce the problem, but we haven’t changed anything on the users setup.
Subject: PostedDate and OriginalModTime incorrect on mails
I also had a very similar problem with PostedDate and OriginalModTime.
I also could not find the reason for long time, but in my case, I finally found out that the mail client (user) attempted to change the OS date via Windows Control Panel.
Subject: PostedDate and OriginalModTime incorrect on mails
No, this is not an answer, but I’m searching for a solution to that same problem. What I might add is:
documents with right PostedDate intermingle with wrong ones in a given time span, i.e., a wrong doc sent at 14:05, a good one at 14:12, two wrong at 14:13 and 14:19, a good one at 14:23 and so on for nearly half an hour
The problem occurs for relatively short spans of time on different workstations, and disappear without any intervention
Modified and Created dates for the wrong docs are correct
Client and server times ARE in synch: they are both Windows machines in the same domain, synch occurs automatically. Furthermore, the erratic behaviour described in 1. excludes a systematic time offset problem
