Port compression - does it include SMTP?

Hi,The documentation in the Notes Admin Help is not clear. The topic ‘Compressing network data on a server port’ says that you can reduce the amount of data sent between two Domino servers by enabling port compression on both servers.

Does this apply to data exchanged using JUST the Notes protocol (port 1352), or does it apply to ALL protocols, including SMTP ?

I’m reviewing our mail topology, and the pros and cons of having a mail hub.

thanks in advance,

P

No, it does not include SMTP. Port compression only applies to NRPC traffic (port 1352).
