First off, I have to say…for a program that boasts these certain capabilities, there is a total lack of instructional material…
I was able to put the required dll into my domino directory with the executable, and I created a database called ‘pop3fido.nsf’ off of the template that was provided with the evaluation download. I entered a server config and a pop3 account config into the newly created database, but when I try to run the exe, I get this error:
“Pop3fido - Notes Exception Error: Message Queue name already in use.”
Honestly, I have no idea what that means, but on the FAQ’s for the software, I found the following two steps that I hadn’t done (and can’t find the fields that are referred to in order to complete them):
Create a Server Configuration document. Place the IP address or TCP/IP hostname of the Notes server with the MTA in the Notes SMTP Server Hostname field. Turn the debug output to High.
Create a POP3 Connection document. Place the IP address or TCP/IP hostname of the POP3 server in the POP3 Server field. If you want to use multidrop mail support, leave the Notes SMTP User Name blank. Do not overlap the times; set the fetch time from 1am to 11pm but don’t set it to 8am to 7am.
I know that pop3fido is 3rd party software, but if someone can just fill me in on how to do the above steps and correct that error I received, then maybe I can get this up and running. Thanks!
