POP3 server seems to jam

I am trying to set up Domino as a POP3 server but when users try to retrieve their mail - the server jams. If I use IMAP, however, everything works fast and well.

I have setup a mail box containing numerous SPAM messages to test some software. The server seems to jam on some of the SPAM messages - especially those which were converted from an Outlook mail box. The SPAM often contains HTML. I have tested the software with various POP3 clients including Eudora, Netscape and Outlook and the behaviour is repeatable. It seems that the CD to MIME converter for the POP3 server is buggy. I have rebooted the server, upgraded to 6.01 with the same result.

I have also recreated the mail box, run FIXUP and even tried creating a replica of the mail box.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi!I had that problem with one user. His “Format preference for incoming mail” was “Prefers Notes Rich Text”, but I changed it to “Keep in senders’ format” and the jam never showed up again. I know that he also upgraded his outlook express to a newer version at the same time, so I don´t know which of the above actually fixed my problem…
