Group, I have a POP3 account within my mail file and has worked forever…now for what reason I cannot explain it is giving me serious problems. Everyday to retrieve my outside mail, I take a deep breathe before I have to go through the pain of retrieving mail:
In my mail.nsf, I “retrieve mail”, which then:
1)immediatedly I notice the message “performs a consistency check”
2)then the next message I see “new UID has been assigned…” -
- Now I’m busted and cannot get into my mail file UNTIL I do the following:
comact -C
fixup -F
updall -R
The last time I ran the commands, I was able to get back into my mail file, but every piece of mail that was sitting in my “inbox” is now gone - I scanned for a few and found these messages in the “all documents” view, but missing from my inbox.
Things I have done to TRY to resolve my issue:
1)deleted the POP account and recreated a new - no help
2)opened my mail file from a test pc - same issue.
It is a guarantee, everyday that I retrieve mail from the POP process, I am going to crash.
ANY thoughts on this problem, would be greatly appreciated!!
