Poll: Remote Debugger on Linux anybody?

Those whom I frequently annoy with my postings might be able to confirm, that I don’t get angry with Notes too easily. However, THIS is really unacceptable.

Has anybody ever been able to use the remote debugger on Linux servers with databases that reside in a subdirectory of the data directory?

Not me. Here is a posting from March 2005, Domino 6.5, describing the problem:

This is December 2007, Domino 7.0.3, and still no go. If I copy my database directly into the data directory, everything is fine. I can connect to and debug LS agents like it’s meant to be. Copy the very same database into a subdirectory, and your toast. No error message whatsoever, it’s just that the waiting agent never shows up as a debug target.

Now, why does this naughty little thought keep nagging in the back of my head, telling me, that some trainee developer forgot about this slash vs. backslash thingy, when checking in his code for the remote debugger …

While I doubt, that a call to fix an obvious bug is a very ingenious idea on my part, I’ll still happily post this on IdeaJam, unless someone proves me wrong on the issue. And that’s why I posted it here, first.
