Doesn’t seems to work.Should I resaving the policys from the addressbook on the traveler server or from our primary mail/database server. Shouldn’t be a matter?
The policy documents from the server you create the policy on must get replicated to the users actual mail server. What Domino level is your mail server(s) running? If you view the list of policies on the mail serverdo you see the Lotus Traveler policy?
If the policy synopsis on the mail server indicates the policy is there then we need to determine if the policy has been pushed to the users mail database on that mail server. You should issue the following tell command on the Lotus Traveler servers Domino console ‘tell traveler dump userid’ where userid is a Lotus Traveler user who should have the policy is question.
The output of this command will go to a file in the …\Domino\data\traveler\logs directory where the
file name starts with the userid from the command.
Please send me this file.
If you edit the file you will see a section towards the bottom with the label
Lotus Traveler Policy Profile: followed by a bunch of fields the contain the policy info.
The policy info in the users mail database is put there by the Domino adminp task on the mail server. Adminp updates with the Lotus Traveler policy information when the adminp task runs periodically. You can force
adminp to do this processing by issuing the following command on the Domino mail server console:
‘tell adminp pr tr’
Which Lotus Traveler security settings are you trying to turn on? What Lotus Traveler client level and type of devices are your Traveler users using? What Domino level is you Domino mail server(s). If your mail server is a release prior to Domino 8.0.1 then adminp does not support Lotus Traveler settings and the Lotus Traveler server itself will attempt to update the users mail database with the policy settings.
Thanks for the good info.I was just worried because in the administrator under Security policy and Wipe options there is No policy and none in the fields for all traveler users.
Should I have any wipe options for the traveler users?
Our traveler security policy just have some default settings…
Our primary domino server is running 8.5 64bit and is clustered with another 8.5 64bit. The traveler server is 8.5 32bit.
The ‘No policy’ value and empty wipe options are the default values in the Lotus Traveler admin DB.The Security policy field will only some some other value if you have assigned a Domino policy with Lotus Traveler settings that have enabled device security (device password and/or storage card encryption) for a user(s).
The Wipe options field will be empty until you use the wipe action button to issue a wipe command. This this field will display the type of wipe issued and some status.
