Policy Bookmark's server links

I have managed to get Policies to kind of work. I can add bookmarks to the bookmark bar using the Desktop policy. However when I click on that bookmark for the first time, instead of it opening the database on the local Glasgow server, where the client is based, it creates an icon on the workspace to the Aberdeen server and tries to open the Aberdeen server replica. This is a new client instal. I have verified the bookmark link on the policy document is to the Glasgow server. Where does bookmarks go to find the list of servers the 1st time the icon is clicked?

Subject: Policy Bookmark’s server links

there are different kind of bookmarks

relative: they don’t include any servername. when you open such a bookmark, first icon on stack on desktop gets opened (even if you haven’t opened desktop)

hinted: they include a servername as hint - used only if db couldn’t be found.

absolute: including servername, if db couldn’t be found on specified server, notes stops trying.

unfortunatley you can’t create such bookmarks in ui.

our tool (BCC ClientGenie ( | BCC) allows to create absolute bookmarks, maybe…

forgot to say: the action that is taken when a hinted bookmark is being opened and there’s no icon on stack is quite complex. which server is taken depends on users homeserver, also catalog is used in some cases.

Subject: Sorry for beeing such Johnny come lately…

…but if the user have access to both the Aberdeen & Glasgow-server, and no icon on workspace, he/she will be directed to the first server that appears in the server´s list, they´re listed alphabetically.
