Have you ever tried to install a WebSphere Portal Extend 5.02?
You end up with the “fix pack mania” all over with IBM products right now… they do not have that under control.
Only Eclipse features well designed Internet based “automatic” updating… but on the serverside IBM is far away from self repairing & updating systems… Please IBM, check this fix pack stuff and provide much more easy solutions for all those poor developers, administrators, etc.
