Hi,I am trying to enable session based authentication for my primary server. But whenever I enter the correct username & password, it gives error “Please identify yourself”. And if i enter the wrong Username or Password, it gives thc correct message as" You provided an invalid username or password".
Can anyone of you help me to enable my session based authentication correctly.
Thanks in advance,

Is the “Please Identify Yourself” on a custom login form? It’s not a phrase I recognise on the default ones.
Is there any chance that the domino login is working, but this phrase is being presented by the application you log into? i.e. the default home page, or the target of link you get redirected to.
If you could post a screenshot (or email it to me at kieran at generation10 dot net, or the address in my profile) It’d be a great help.
Thanks

to access that particular resource. So check the ACL (don’t forget about the advanced section where you control the maximum internet access level (independent from ACL)

I can acces this resource if I use a differen’t URL (i.e. https://servername.domain.com/databasename.nsf)instead of the URL (i.e. https://companyname.com/databasename.nsf)listed in out internet site document.

I am also having this issue and I have not found a resolution yet. Mine maybe a little different though. If we try to login to the website http://website.com/database.nsf it works fine but if we use an SSL site https://securesite.website.com/database.nsf we get the same “please identify yourself” screen. Although if we use the servername via SSL it works fine for example https://server01.defaultdomain.com/database.nsfNote: Our internal domain is differen’t from our website domain for this instance.

Have you checked if your SSL settings in the server document allow username/password login only? make sure that client certificates are not required:
Server doc > Ports > Internet Ports > Web > SSL section make sure that:
Authentication options:
-
Client Certificate = No
-
Name and Password = Yes
-
Anonymous = Yes

Thanks for the response. I did verify these settings and they were set this way although we are using Internet Site documents instead.
