PKI/x.509 cert users not showing up as authenticated

We have implemented x.509/PKI certificates for web users. When we check who is signed on to our sites using the admin client the users who are signed on via a web browser don’t show up under the Server\Status tab"Internet Users" area, nor do they show up if you issue the “tell http show users” command from the server console. Is this a bug or aren’t they supposed to show up there? If not where do they show up?

Can anyone provide any help on this subject?

We found out that when users authenticate with a certificate that session authentication is not being used. Thus they don’t show up in the admin client. They will show up as authenticated users in the http access logs…
