Phantom Return receipt

We have a user who has received a return receipt from another person. The other person says he never received anything from this user.

Where did this return receipt come from?

If the third user opened an email in reciepents mail file, that had RR turned on, that would trigger the RR to the sender.

Check to see who was in the To/CC/BCC field of original message. Then check those dabase ACL’s to see if the “phantom” third user has acces to any of those databases. If they do, check the usage history on those/that database, and I’ll bet you will find that the “phantom” third user was poking around in that/those mail files.
