What we are seeing is the perweb.nsf file is not cleaned up or managed automatically. This causes problems with consistency checks as well as slow performance on startup after reboots or even logoff/logon.
We have several hundred clients that have perweb.nsf file sizes over 100MB. 2 SPR’s have been put in for this…1 for a policy setting and 1 for the housekeeping task to be enabled by default.
In the near term, we have implemented a SCCM/SMS package to touch all of our clients, close Notes and delete perweb.nsf. In our testing, removing this file when it gets too large (no identified ‘good’ size as of yet) greatly improves client performance.
Our Notes clients are set to use IE for links and we do not use the homepage, rather the workspace. We believe that the problem we are seeing now has nothing to do with Notes 8, rather 4 to 5 years of working with the same installation.
