Personal folder in mailbox, private in Archive

Several of our users have folders which appear as shared on the mail server, but private in their Archive database. We store all Archive mailboxes on a common server. R6.5.2 on client and server. While we can see the documents that might be in the folder by looking in the “All Documents” view, we can’t determine what documents are in these folders. Is there a way to fix this? Do we need to create new folders and move documents? Many of these folders are nested several times (mixing private and shared), making setting up new folders a nightmare.

A separate question - how could this happen, that the original is shared, but Notes created private folders in the Archive? The users did NOT define them in the Archive database – the archiving process evidently did.
