I have a user who is having a problem with the search function in his personal address book. If he clicks on certain letters (the ones running vertically to the right of the navigator) he is directed to a different letter (e.g., he clicks on “R” and is directed to the first “W” in the list). This is only happening with certain letters - not all of them and I cannot see anything when I run the debugger or anything that sticks out in the Notes documents that could be causing the problem.
He has over 600 entries in his PAB and does sync with a BlackBerry - not sure if that is causing the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Subject: Personal Address Book - Problem with Search By Letter
I’ve seen the same problem in an address book that also had a lot of entries.
After a lot of testing, I eventually culled some of the toolbars that he wasn’t using (chat and address I think) and managed to fit the remaining toolbar icons on one line.
Now each letter resolves perfectly.
I guess the functionality was never tested with so many contacts.
If your user needs to keep all the toolbars, perhaps try playing with his screen resolution, or dropping down the font size of his notes (add Display_Font_Adjustment=-1) to the notes.ini and see if that makes a difference.
Hope this helps you.
Cheers
Kirsty

Thanks Kristy - I adjusted the font and that worked but the user does not like the font size because it is too small . . . aghhh!
Thanks for your help.

Jennifer,
Does the user have an “alternate sort” column turned on? (I do this all the time.)
