Persistently disappearing incoming mail

I am constantly losing mail, which fails to hit the Inbox, but is there either in the All Documents view, or in a few cases only visible in the Mail Threads view. This is happening with POP3 mail - I can’t comment on local mail since I don’t get any.

What’s going on?

I too have a user who is experiencing this, we are on 6.5, W2K. I will post whatever I discover.

I am dealing with this at least five times a day.I used:

Run fixup -f

Run compact -i -c -d -K (ignore errors, copy-style, delete view indexes, set large UNK table bit)

Run updall -R

Based on technote 1117045 and this will fix the problem.

Subject: Works great but where’d you find the draft technote

I couldn’t find the technote anywere so I asked a Loti if they could locate it for me and sure enough it does exist although in a draft state. Did you find it in some repository that I neglected to look in?

Thanks!

Rob

We have also had a similar problem where the user has created another inbox folder, or a subfolder below the existing (eg. Inbox\Important). Try deleting the ($Inbox) folder and rename any user folders that start with the word Inbox, then reapply the template.
