We have been using a pernames.ntf file with our installations, and it used to fill out all of the mailfile names automatically I.E. if the user’s name was John Smith, the mailfile location would be set to mail\jsmith. Also, their mail server would automatically populate for instance if their mail server was Test/Server, that would be entered into the correct area.
Now, our lotus admins have made a new pernames template that we are using, they have added some locations to the template. The fields are no longer being populated automatically and now on every install I have to manually edit every location, (Home, Office, VPN, etc.) and type in the mail server, and the mail file name.
Replication for the locations is setup now, when it wasn’t before. When I asked our lotus admins about the discrepancy, the answer I received was that the previous pernames did not have any locations in it, and they were the default locations that Notes installs. They setup new locations since some users were having problems. So they tell me I have a choice of setting up replication, or typing in user names and mail servers…
There has to be a reason, if someone could just point me in the right direction, if I need to use Script, or if it’s an actual setting in the pernames.ntf file that needs to be setup. It did it before, so I don’t really understand why it can’t do it now, but like I said as far as the admins are concerned it’s a closed issue. But the whole purpose of using the pernames in the first place is to avoid all this manual data entry.
Any, any help would be appreciated, thanks for the support in advance.
