I am trying to move a user from one server to another and can’t get it to work. The creat new mailfile replica request fails saying You are not authorized to perform that operation. I checked the server documents and localdomainadmins and localdomainservers are listed on the create new replica on both servers. I am in the localdomanadmingroup. I tried it as the administrator and the same thing happens. What permission do I need to have to perform a move?

I had this same stuff happen when setting up archiving. Put the user whose mailfile you’re moving into the create replicas and create dbs groups and see what happens… It’s ludicrous, but I had to do that for certain mail archives to be created. Even though it was being done at the server level via a program document running COMPACT -A. There should be no reason that the user’s credentials were being used, and it only failed on random mail files.
But it worked for me…
