Hello,
I installed the version 8.0.2 of the lotus notes client. The first time when I started it, it was sharply faster, but now, I find it very slow (even to open the local replica of my mail application).
Have you an idea of the problem ?
Thanks.

Subject: Welcome to hell
Welcome to release 8, get ready for major errors, wrong server updates and BAD performance of clients and ZERO support from IBM as usual.
Actually, your clients need atleast 2GB of internal memeory to function properly. Also make to sure update the design of the default databases to release 8.
Or…
save yourself the hell of the java eclipse framework and launch NLNOTES.EXE instead of the normal NOTES.EXE

And I do think the world is not anywhere nearly as bad as you descripe … 8.0.2 is running quite well here. same for the 8.5 Beta - on a 3 GByte Memory Machine I do run Server, Browser, Client DDE (Designer) on XP and it uses hardly ever more than 1 GByte all together inlcuding OS
