Hi,
the performance of our Domino server is just after restart ok. Then after operating a few days the memory usage increases up to 6 GB just for the Domino server, no Sametime, no virus scanner. Due to this the performance is very poor. There seems to be also a problem with the amount of memory used. Restarting the server solves the problem for the next few days.
The server runs on VMWare Server and has 2 GB of physical memory. The other VMs don’t show any problems like this.
We even set up the Domino server from the scratch and copied the databases to the server.
Is there a fix pack available to 8.0.1 server? Or has anyone suggestions on the configuration? Or is there anybody who has similar problems?
Thank you
Tobias Fritz
Subject: I guess it as likely that some agent is causing this, than VMWare.
If your VMWare servers are big enough, just run another copy of this and see if the same is happening without user interaction (if, then if it is still happening without more and more databases)
Subject: Re: Performance Problems
Hello Tobias,
Can you diagnose what particular Domino processes are causing the high memory utilization? Are there any tasks that run on this server that do not run on the non-affected servers?
You’ll find some information regarding troubleshooting performance issues on VMWare below:

Subject: All Processes
It seems to me, that all processes gather additional memory. For example the replica task uses up to 500 MB of memory. The system worked well with Domino 7.0.2.
Unfortunately the server has not enough resources to build a second server like this one. There is another Domino Server with version 7.0.2 running causing no problems of this kind.
