Performance Measuring

Hello All,

I am in the process of address Server and Client performance problems. As an administrator, I know what could cause a server to degrade in performance. Yet, I am having a difficult time explaining this to management.

When they look at the server’s OS, they see no performance issues. Yet, I know that how Lotus domino “allocates” system resources is different from what the OS system shows.

What I am trying to prove is that a “Hub/Spoke” topology is the best; domino clustering is better then os and/or hardware clustering (only as it relates to domino); that disk speed is important as well as “Multiple” processors; and that major domino tasks need to be split onto different servers (mail, application, smtp, etc.).

What I am looking for is a way to prove to management that the current servers need hardware upgrades, that major tasks need to be split, that a hub-spoke topology is the best, and, that the best “Disaster recovery plan” is to implement a Domino Clustered solution.

How do I begin with server performance measuring that will give me concrete information for management.

How d I begin with client performance measuring that will give me concrete information for management.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you all in Advance for your help :o)
