You have asked this ealier:

You won’t be happy with me, but since it seems that the results aren’t what you are looking for, that you should call Lotus/IBM Tech Support and ask them. Especially if this is a cornerstone to your application/requirements.

Just a thought.

B asically the answer is NO.A PDF document is a print format. It does not have the internal structure needed to describe the layout for a Word document.

One thing you can do using the PDF Java/JavaScript API is extract the text from the PDF file, so you can get the text contents (but not the structure) into a Word document.

A PDF file is a linearized PostScript document, which is essentially a program to create the printed page.

There are OCR programs which will attempt to create a word document from the PDF image, just like they would do with any scanned image. But this will still require human intervention to receive a document in Word.

You will need to have a very close look at the Adobe PDF API. I do not know if this operation can be done without looking at the API, but I suspect not.

Converting a word document to a PDF is not overly hard (you would need to look at the MS Word API, or messing with the system printer to send to PDF), but going the other way…

Hi

Consider opening a MSWord.Application object, and then use the LotusScript/VBScript capabilities in order to open if, save/convert it, and then reload/attach/or so on …

(assuming that M$Word knows how to convert, if not, use an API as mentionned)
