Pasting a Doclink gives "Yes"

I can not figure this one out at all…

I have a Notes database with many forms and documents. If I right click on a document and select “Copy as Document Link” and then paste this into a new email message, I get the word “Yes” and not the little yellow icon. This only happens to documents that use one specific form in the database. Other docs using other forms are fine.

The form has no protection, and does not have the option ticked to prevent copying, etc.

There is nothing complicated on the form. It has two text fields and a Body field.

I’ve tried this on a variety of Notes 6.x versions, on various PCs - all with the same result.

What else can I check?

Thanks

You could do a test by pasting the doc-link into Notepad - if you really have a doc-link in the clipboard, you should see something like the following…

Notes/Domino 6 Forum - Pasting a Doclink gives “Yes”

Ah ha, sounds like the same problem which had me banging my head against the wall a couple of weeks ago.

Does your document contain a field named ‘URL’?

It appears that the Copy as Link feature will take the value in this field rather than create a doclink.

Change the field name from ‘URL’ to something else and try again.

There is a post about this in the R5 forum:

This is exactly what the problem was - I had a field called “URL”. I renenamed it, deleted the field from all the docs and it worked well

Many thanks for this

Notepad also returns Yes when I paste

I’m stumped

That seems to tell me that you are not putting a doc-link into the clipboard.

Humm…only for one document-form eh ? That form would not be protecting it’s documents would it ?
