Password synchronization

Is there any way to synchronize internet passwords in Domino with other systems based on Kerberos?

A company have several systems that authenticate users that way. Advantage is that users have the same passwords to all systems and wherever user change password it works for all other systems. Is it possible to join Domino to this “authentication ring”?

Is it possible to synchronize Notes passwords with any other systems?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Subject: Password synchronization

Yes, it’s possible to synchronize both Notes and Internet passwords with other systems. There’s a lot of information on this in Domino Administration Help. It’s easier to sync Internet passwords, as they’re stored in the Domino directory. Notes passwords are used to encrypt portions of the user ID, but you can set up synchronisation for these, too.

Out of the box, you can choose to sync the Notes and Internet passwords, and also to sync the Notes password with the network password. Note that the change to the Notes password is made on the client rather than the server side, as only the client has access to the ID file and current password.

There are lots of other different ways to approach this, including some third-party products (e.g. Pistolstar). So maybe you’ll want to post more questions here once you’ve reviewed the options.
