All:I am trying to set up a Password Security Policy. I feel confident I have the policy configured properly. However, with my test user account, whom I have explicitly applied the policy to, to test, I does not seem to be checking.
I assigned the policy to the user on 9/13, and set with policy, for the password to expire every 5 days. However, when I logged in as the user, it did nor prompt me to change. Also, I have not received any of the prior notifications that I was close to expiration.
My question, considering I can’t seem to find a definitive answer in help or the forums is this, do I have to enable the “Check passwords on Notes IDs” field on the server configuration document to work?
In the Admin Guide - topic: ‘Custom password policies’ - there is a note:
Note Even if you establish a customized password policy, you must still enable “Check passwords on Notes IDs” in the server document in order for Domino to check password history.
Mark (or anyone else),I figured I would probably have to check that security setting. However, in doing so, since it has never been checked before, what will this do to my user base as it currently is? What repercussions will I have in enabling this option? I only have 1 test user account with the password change policy assigned to, will this effect my users that do not have the policy.
