I have searched the forum and cannot find this problem. A week ago my client stopped prompting me to enter my password. I start the client (either basic or full) and it goes directly into Notes without asking me for my password. This also happens if I try the Admin or Designer client. Any ideas on where it is caching my password and how I might rectify this?
Subject: SSO Enabled ?
You might have Single Sign On enabled which means Windows and notes passwords are in sync.
Please check and also does it prompt when you open User Security ?
Subject: No SSO enabled - never have done that - problem persists
I have never enabled the SSO for any of our users or myself. I can find no evidence of this being enabled either.
I am also not prompted for my password when clicking on File → Secirity → User Security and I see the details of my User Security in the pop-up window.
Also, when I click on Lock ID it indicates in the bottom bar that it has been locked but I still have full access to local and server databases.
I have never seen this problem in 20 years of Notes Admin.

Subject: Thanks - problem resolved
Thanks Paul, I tried changing my password and when I attempted to login (after restarting my Notes client) I received a very informative message:
“The password currently stored for this user in NotesMedic is invalid. Please change the password using the NotesMedic Settings screen and retry the operation again.”
First, kudos to NotesMedic for the very explanatory error message. Lotus/IBM could learn a thing or two about their usually cryptic error messages.
Second, I had installed NotesMedic a couple of weeks ago in order to try and resolve a different issue and had no idea that NotesMedic was capable of caching my password to perform it’s version of time saving. How that setting became enabled isn’t clear, as it wasn’t doing this up until a couple of days ago.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and hopefully if anyone experiences this problem in the future, this post will help them resolve it.
Subject: Sorry, forgot to thank Carl
It was Carl’s changing the password suggestion.
