Hello,
Today I am with a customer who described an issue a lot of users are experiencing. I checked the kb and forums and stuff and discovered the post below of Rob Kirkland. This problems exactly describes the issue my customer is having, only they are already on 8.0.2 instead of 8.0.
I cannot find anything about a fix or something for this issue, only a work-a-round (starting nlnotes.exe) which is not acceptable for my customer. Any information is very, very appreciated.
Kind regards,
Arjan Vermeulen
ORIGINAL POST OF ROB KIRKLAND:
I’m using Notes 8 Standard on a Windows Vista Home Premium platform (which I know is not certified as supported – sorry about that). Recently (two-three weeks ago?) I set a preference to “Automatically lock my Notes ID after 15 minutes”.
Twice now, both within the last 3-4 days, I have found that, after Notes locked me out, I couldn’t get back in. I’d correctly enter my password and the dialog would momentarily disappear, then reappear. If I entered my password incorrectly, I’d get the “wrong password” dialog, so I know I was entering my password correctly.
This seems to happen after Notes has been running for many hours, and possibly with a “hibernate” or “sleep” having taken place while it was open.
So far I haven’t lost any data because of this, thanks to AutoSave. But this makes me nervous (not to mention that it’s a genuine inconvenience). For the time being I’ve turned off automatic lockout, which is not a satisfactory resolution.
